The Harry Potter & The Cursed Child (HPCC) production partnered with Meta, who partnered with The Mill to create a set of three augmented experiences at the Lyric Theatre for the reopening of Broadway and the Harry Potter & The Cursed Child show post pandemic. Working closely with our creative director, developer, the theater team, and the Meta project team, this was a unique SparkAR experience.
As users enter the theater they scan a QR code to launch the experience. They could then point at various pieces of art with their mobile device to bring them to life leveraging multi-target tracking.
These effects were ultimately used globally in other theaters running the show.
